Expert Advice Masters & Disasters of Marriage Quiz
By Dr. John Gottman
What makes Marriage Work?
For the last 25 years at the Family Research Lab at the University of Washington, Dr. John Gottman studied what he calls the “masters and disasters” of marriage. He studies heartrate, facial expression, and how people talk about their relationship to each other and to other people. He’s able to predict with 90% accuracy which couples are going to make it, and which will not. Test the strength of your marriage in this relationship quiz prepared by Gottman.
Give yourself one point for each “yes” answer.
1. I can name my partner’s best friends.

To those who are on the same situation as ours, here are some helpful tips that I found in the net on how to make long distance marriage work:
Couples who appreciate the positive aspects of their separation are more likely to stay together, says Gregory Guldner, M.D., author of Long Distance Relationships: The Complete Guide (JF Milne Publications, 2003).

The Secret to a Lasting Marriage: Embrace Imperfection
Deb GrahamWhen I was a little girl, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner
every now and then. And I remember one night in particular when she had made
breakfast after a long, hard day at work.On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage, and
extremely burned toast in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if
anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was reach for his toast, smile at my mom,
and ask me how my day was at school.

To those husbands who have asth-ma wife syndrome (just like what my hubby calls himself); be proud because you are actually investing in making your marriage work.
John M. Gottman, PH.D., the New York Times Bestseller of the book The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work said; men who allow their wives to influence them have happier marriages and less likely to divorce than men who resist their wives influence.
But of course it takes two to make the relationship work. So, wives on the other hand should treat their husbands with honor and respect.
I’m very blessed because I have an emotionally intelligent husband. But he prefer to be called “asthmatic”.

Last weekend i had my own episode of retardation. I don’t want to eat, i don’t want to get out of my bed, i don’t want to go out — I don’t want to do anything! All i can think of is the one who is miles and miles away from me. very difficult…very frustrating… and you cant do anything but to wait and to have faith.
60 more crazy weekends to go before i can finally see the person who has the cure for my temporary insatiny.

While going through my normal routine in the Internet (reading blogs and news), The picture in this post reminded me of the first time we set foot in Calaruega. Right there and then i fell in love with the place and told my friends that “..this is where i’m getting married. ” I even posted it in Friendster which drew a lot of attention particularly the folks overseas.

One more year and my dream of getting married in this romantic place with my soul mate will become a reality.
P.S.
I really have this hunch that this picture in Friendster might be the real reason why benee went home for vacation last May 2007.
